Communications will be sent by app or email from Softball commissioners, coaches, team moms, and/or rainedout.com

How are decisions made about field closures?

Goochland Parks and Recreation operates our playing fields.  Parks and Rec offers a text/email service for field closures updates.   They usually make their decision by 3pm on questionable weather days.   Please sign up at rainedout.com and search “Goochland” where you will find a link for Goochland Parks and Rec.  Please keep in mind sometimes these decisions are made last minute by Parks and Rec.  We appreciate your flexibility during these times.  **PLEASE always wait for communication from your coach.   If it is not actively storming coaches may choose to have practices in grassy areas or batting cages**

What Equipment does my daughter need to play?

Your daughter will need a glove.  Please be sure it is size appropriate for your daughter to play with 11” (10 years and younger) or 12” ball (11 years and older).  You will also need to purchase black game pants.  GYAA provides balls, catchers gear, batting helmets and bats for use during practices and games.  (Recommend/Optional equipment: Facemask, cleats, personal batting helmet w/face guard and chin strap)
