Baseball News
The 2012 Majors All Star Team in GYAA Dixie Youth won Districts, States, and traveled to the World Series in Bartow, FL to represent the state of Virginia. We are so proud of these boys, the sportsmanship, and ability to come together as a team and perform at such a high level. Thank you to all of you who had a hand in getting them there from coaches, sponsors, parents, friends,and more.

* Field Closure and Weather Updates - We will try to update this site daily along with the facebook group. The weather hotline will be updated by 3:30 PM daily. We update as soon as Parks and Recreation makes the call to us. Call 556-9000 after 3:30 PM for Field Closure Updates.
As of Wednesday, March 13, Parks and Rec is working to get fields open and batting cages up and usable. Please be patient as they work to get everything up and running.
Field Names and Locations:
Field 1, also known as Luck Field - Hidden Rock Park, Baseball Field at Parking Lot Level
Field 2, also known as Upper Baseball Field - Hidden Rock Park behind and above Luck Field
Field 3 - Hidden Rock Park, down the hill on the right side
Field 4 - Hidden Rock Park, down the hill on the left side
Napa Field, also known as Taylor's Field - Right off 522 between Old Highschool Football Field and Taylor's gas station
Old High School Field - Adjacent to Old High School Football Field off 522. (Football field is the outfield!)
If you don't all ready know, and you are on Facebook, you can join the Goochland Youth Athletic Association group to help keep up to date on information regarding GYAA.
Spread the Word - Scholarship Money Available for Seniors
FYI - Dixie Youth awards scholarships to Dixie participants. All Seniors are eligible to apply. Scholarship applications are available on their website. At a most recent meeting, I was informed that Virginia generally has a low number of applicants. Come on Goochland Youth, lets' get some of that scholarship money!! For Softball, you must be a senior in highschool, have participated in Dixies Softball TWO seasons.
Deadline is March 1, 2013

For Baseball, Applicant must have been registered on a Dixie Youth Baseball team participation in a franchised Dixie Youth Baseball, Inc. league prior to reaching age 13. Deadline for application, must be postmarked on or before February 1, 2013.
